After a thrilling and passionate final match, the Portugal national team emerged victorious, taking home the trophy and the glory at the UEFA EURO 2016 tournament. Congratulations Portugal!
Leading up to spirited final match that will no doubt go down in the annals of football history, Kia Motors took part in exciting events to bring football fans of all ages and nationalities together for the climax of this year’s tournament. As a major sponsor of the greatest football competition on the European continent, Kia has been working hard to keep the passion of fans alive. As the entire UEFA EURO campaign has been a result of successful collaboration between Kia Motors and local distributors, Kia extends a huge thank you to regional distributors worldwide for their support in enthusing global fans.

OMBC winners take the spotlight!
Following the ‘Carry Your Dream’ online casting call for 2016 Official Match Ball Carriers (OMBCs), the winners made their way from their home countries to join their football idols on the pitch, delivering the match ball for kick-off. Fifty-one young footballers were chosen for this life-changing opportunity and many of their stories were shared by Kia on our social channels. Take a look at our proud winners shining in the spotlight on the field!

‘Champ into the Arena’ sparks the competitive spirit

Alongside the official EURO 2016 football matches, Kia brought back the popular ‘Champ into the Arena,’ an amateur five-a-side football tournament competition for fans. A total of 1,600 teams from 16 countries participated in the preliminary elimination rounds staring in April, and 16 final teams were invited to play in the World Final Tournament in France, just in time to attend a EURO 2016 quarter-final game.
The ‘N1 Sevilla’ team was crowned victors of the tournament.
Both the ‘Carry Your Dream’ casting and ‘Champ into the Arena’ tournament provided fans the opportunity to experience the excitement and passion of EURO 2016 first hand. As Kia aims to becoming a youthful and dynamic automaker, we held multiple events for the young and the young-at-heart, and we have been truly touched and encouraged by the enthusiasm and dedication of people all over the world. With the Kia Sportage – the hero model of the UEFA EURO 2016 championship – by our side, we too have had quite an energetic and enjoyable ride.
Although the 2016 European Championships have now come to an end, the event will surely not be forgotten. Thank you for all the support; Kia Motors will never stop sparking passion and breathing excitement into the lives of our fans.
