Three weeks into retirement, Frank has reorganized the garage four times and repaired nearly every appliance in the house.
Gloria realizes he is becoming unbearable.
Leon arrives with photographs of a burgundy 1993 Hyundai Scoupe Turbo abandoned behind an old transmission shop. The property has been sold, and the car will be scrapped unless someone removes it before Monday morning.
Frank insists he is not starting another business.
He only wants to inspect the car.
When the cover is pulled away, Frank discovers severe rust, a seized turbocharger, damaged wiring, and an engine filled with evidence of years of neglect. Maya describes the Scoupe as a financial disaster.
Frank notices the rare turbo badge still attached to the rear panel.
He wipes the dust from it with his thumb.
“They built this car when Korea still had something to prove.”
Against everyone’s advice, Frank brings the Scoupe home.
The episode follows his attempt to make the engine turn for the first time in twelve years. Just before midnight, after rebuilding part of the fuel system and repairing the ignition wiring, Frank turns the key.
The engine coughs once.
Then again.
A cloud of smoke fills the garage as the Scoupe briefly comes to life.
Gloria appears in the doorway wearing her robe.
She watches Frank smiling behind the steering wheel and realizes retirement has officially ended.
The final scene reveals Frank removing the old sign above his garage door.
The following morning, Maya finds a newly painted replacement:
